To celebrate our finalist bid to become UK City of Culture 2021 we will be making a series of films over the next few months to celebrate Swansea’s diverse and extensive cultural offering in the city and we’ll be asking the people of Swansea why and what they love about culture. Enjoy…
Swansea’s bid to be UK City of Culture 2021 has been backed by Wales’ First Minister, Carwyn Jones.
First Minister, Carwyn Jones, said: “It’s great to support Swansea’s bid to become the UK City of Culture, this is the city where I was born and where I spent a lot of my working life. It’s a great city, a fantastic contrast but more than anything else it has a rich literary and cultural heritage. There can be no better UK city of Culture!”
Swansea’s bid for UK City of Culture is in and look who delivered our bid to the DCMS in London. The brilliant Rhys Ifans!
